GRAphite FELT "CARBOPON-B-22"

• THICKNESS 3 - 8 mm; WIDTH 65cm MAX;
• precursor is rayon viscose fiber 50mm;  
• elementary fiber is 0.05-0.09 tex;
• carbon content  99,9+ %.

PROPERTIES

• Stability in inert (oxidizer-free) ambience 3000°C max;
• The lowest level of thermal conductivity (in comparison with PAN or pitch based felts);
• Stability in oxidizer ambience 400°C max;
• Insensitivity to electromagnetic, nuclear and space radiation;
• Filament Tensile Strength 1.2 - 1.5 GPa;           
• Average Tensile Modulus 60 GPa;
• High chemical stability to acids, alkali, solvents (at normal & high temperatures);
• Electrical conductivity; radio wave adsorption.

APPLICATION
The application examples are based on present state of knowledge we have.
CARBOPON-B-22’s unique properties allow other problems also to be solved.
It is a reason of close cooperation with users and processing companies when needed.

• Vacuum or inert gases furnaces thermal insulation (CZ);
• Hot zones heat-insulation;
• Nuclear reactor technology (for neutrons absorption);
• Filters for hot and (or) corrosive gases and liquids;
• For molten metals (zero wetting);
• Catalyst carrier;
• 3D (high surface area) cathode for precious metals electrochemical extraction (Au, Pt, Pd, etc), especially for gold electrowinning;
• Corrosion-resistant vessel linings;
• Backing strips for soldering and welding (no wetting, no smouldering);
• Electromagnetic wave absorber.

Felt appearance – pieces. Piece weight for “A” grade is 3kg min. 1 roll is allowed to have several pieces. Roll weight is 15kg max.1 kg weight is allowed for 10% of pieces in the lot for grade “A”. Roll of fabric is wrapped into polyethylene (PE) protective film.
